Vienna - September 1-4, 2011 - Dr. John R. Miklos and Dr. Robert D. Moore will participate as guest presenters at the Scientific Meeting of The World Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. The World Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (WAOCS) was introduced in 2010 as an international multidisciplinary organization promoting cosmetic surgery and defining standards of patient care. The 2nd meeting of the WAOCS is being held in Vienna, Austria and will be attended by plastic surgeons, cosmetic surgeons and cosmetogynecologist from all over the globe.

Drs. Miklos and Moore Respond to FDA Mesh Safety Communication
Drs. Miklos and Moore have written a response to the FDA Safety Communication released on July 13, 2011, regarding the usage of synthetic mesh materials for the repair of pelvic organ prolapse. While the FDA has neither taken the mesh off the market nor called for a recall, they did state that a variety of complications have been reported by patients and surgeons alike, and wish to make this fact known to surgeons and patients alike.
