Dr. Miklos's Unprecedented Surgical Training
Dr. Miklos started his medical career by attending medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Upon completion of medical school he did his expected 4 year residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology in Philadelphia from 1989 -1993. Unlike most of his colleagues who then go into private practice, Dr. Miklos being unhappy with the thoroughness of his surgical training chose an alternative route. Dr. Miklos decided to pursue a two-year fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Vaginal Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1993-1995.

Drs. Miklos and Moore Publish the First Paper on Simultaneous Labia Minora and Labia Majora Reduction Surgery
Drs. Miklos & Moore have just published what is only the second paper in the worldwide literature on labia majora reduction surgery. It is the first paper in the world describing the technique of performing both labia minora and labia majora reduction surgery simultaneously (i.e. on the same surgical day). The lack of scientific research and papers on labia majora reduction surgery reinforces the fact that very few surgeons in the world actually perform the surgery.

Why choose a Fellowship Trained Urogynecologist and Reconstructive Vaginal Surgeon vs. a Plastic Surgeon and General Gynecologist?
Though there are no hard fast rules as to how to choose a surgeon, there are some basic criteria that hold true when choosing an expert in any field and they include: experience, expertise and results. I suggest that results are probably the most important of the three criteria. Usually results are a product of a well-trained surgeon (experience) who has plenty of expertise in the surgical discipline discussed. Fortunately results are the easiest to verify and this is usually confirmed by seeing before and after pictures or reading/hearing testimonials.
