Patient Flies 4,500 Miles to have her Fistula CURED in Atlanta

Here at Atlanta Urogynecology (AUA) we have two things to celebrate this month.  First and MOST IMPORTANTLY we just SUCCESSFULLY treated our 12th patient for vesicovaginal fistula in the last 11 months. Very few surgeons have the opportunity treat more than one or two fistulas in a career.  Secondly the patient came from HAWAII and we can now say we have surgically treated patients from 47 of our 50 states. 

Here at Atlanta Urogynecology we are beaming with pride that this pleasant woman would entrust her care to us, after failing 3 procedures in Hawaii. She flew more than 4500 miles with her husband and children to have her surgery done at Northside Hospital in Atlanta Ga.  What an honor for Dr Miklos & Moore!

The surgery took only 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The patient flew back to Hawaii with her family four days after surgery.  Approximately 10 days later she saw her urogynecologist in Hawaii who then performed a cystogram (x–ray study) which confirmed that fistula was CURED!  Needless to say the patient is happy and we ate AUA are ecstatic she entrusted her care to us.
