World Surgical Tour 2011 - Dr. Moore in New Zealand

The Miklos and Moore World Surgical tour started with Dr. Moore heading to Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday May 28. After flying for 30 hours (connections in LA and Sydney, Australia) and crossing the International Date Line, he arrived in Auckland, NZ. Dr. Moore was honored with a welcome dinner Monday night and then started work right away Tuesday Morning with a surgical workshop for surgeons that travelled in from all over New Zealand.

Dr. Moore operated with Dr. Lynsey Hayward, one of New Zealand's leading urogynecologists and demonstrated and taught some of the latest techniques in vaginal surgery and minimally invasive treatments for incontinence. Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Moore taught an Anatomy lab for surgeons at the University of Auckland and then Tuesday night was the guest Lecturer and featured speaker at a meeting for some of the top vaginal surgeons in New Zealand. Wednesday morning he was welcomed by the Ob/Gyn Department at Auckland City Hospital as Guest Professor and Lecturer and gave Grand Rounds for the department's attending staff, residents and students.

Wednesday afternoon (after a short rest and a great lunch on the beach!) he flew on to Melbourne, Australia en route to Adelaide, Australia and the AGES meeting to meet up with Dr. Miklos where they were to be the Featured International Visiting Professors for the Australia/Asian Gyn Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery Meeting. Dr. Moore and Miklos were invited to New Zealand and Australia secondary to being considered two of the leading laparoscopic and vaginal surgeons in the world. They take time from their busy schedules several times a year to travel the world to teach, lecture, present their research and operate to continue to help promote minimally invasive surgery for women's health worldwide.

New Zealand and Australia were just the beginning of this tour as they then continued on to Russia and Canada prior to returning to Atlanta (don't miss the Russia and Toronto blogs for more pictures of the Tour!)
