Dr. Miklos to Operate on Patient from 43rd country (Norway)

Dr. Miklos to operate on a patient from Norway, January 12, 2011. A patient born without a penetrable vagina (ie MRKH syndrome) is scheduled to fly to Atlanta to have Dr. Miklos perform a laparoscopic neovagina surgical procedure. The procedure is called a Davydov procedure and Dr. Miklos first learned this procedure in Moscow, Russia in 2001. The surgery takes approximately 1-1.5 hours and within 3 weeks the patient should be able to engage in sexual intercourse. Dr. Miklos and Moore have adopted this procedure for patients born without vaginas as well as for patients who have shortened vaginas from improperly performed surgery or excessive scarring at the apex of the vagina. Patients with shortened vaginas due to surgery have had excellent results with this procedure.
