Dr. Moore Acts as Main Speaker and International Distinguished Visiting Professor In India
Three short days after returning from Argentina in October (2010), Dr Moore then headed on a long journey to India where he was invited to be the Main Speaker and International Distinguished Visiting Professor at 3 major Urology and Urogynecology Meetings and courses throughout India. He was invited by Dr B. Ramesh to be the Keynote International Speaker and Surgeon at the 4th International Workshop and Congress on Recent Advances in Gynecology, Urogynecology and Gyn Endoscopy (RAGE) in Bangalore, India on 23/24 October 2010. The RAGE meeting is one of the largest meetings in India annually on minimally invasive gyn surgery and is attended by over 600 surgeons from all over India, with many surgeons travelling days to come to just attend the meeting. After hearing the news that Dr Moore was coming to India, several other Institutions throughout India then invited Dr Moore to speak and lecture and host Operating Workshops at their Institutions.
After a 23 hour flight through Amsterdam, Dr Moore arrived Mumbai, India very late Thursday night (essentially Friday morning!) in Mumbai, India, a city of over 20 million people! After a short rest he began his journey and Live Surgery Tour of India as the Main Speaker and International Surgeon at a Live Operating and Workshop Course organized by the Mumbai Urology Society and the Mumbai Ob/G Society at the Sufai Hospital in Mumbai India on Friday 22 Oct 2010. Dr Ajit Vaze, Chair of the Department of Urology invited Dr Moore to lead this course and be the Main Speaker and Surgeon secondary to Dr Moore being one of the world leaders in Minimally Invasive Urogynecology Surgery. Dr Vaze is one of the leading Urologists in India and it was an honor for Dr Moore to be invited by him to host this prestigious course. Dr Moore gave lectures on new technology in minimally invasive treatment for stress urinary incontinence, including presenting his research on the Mini Arc single incision Mini-sling, which was the first one-year data to be published in the world last year on this technology. He also gave lectures on vaginal mesh procedures and how to prevent complications including with these procedures. He then performed 4 live surgeries, with Dr Vaze assisting, that were transmitted back to the auditorium where there were more than 140 surgeons in attendance that came to watch Dr Moore!
Dr Moore then travelled on to Bangalore, India Thursday night to be the Keynote International Speaker at the RAGE meeting hosted by Dr B. Ramesh. Bangalore is known as the technology capitol of the world with approximately 15 million inhabitants. Dr Ramesh is a leading Laparoscopic Surgeon in India and is has one of the leading training centers in India for Laparsocopic Gyn Surgery. The Ramesh Hospital and Research Institute trains Fellows in Advanced pelvic surgery and is part of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science. Dr Ramesh invited Dr Moore to be the Keynote Speaker and Surgeon at this years meeting secondary to Dr Moore’s reputation as a worldwide leader in Laparoscopic Pelvic Reconstruction including Laparoscopic Sacralcolpopexy as well as new technology in vaginal surgery including vaginal mesh procedures. Dr Ramesh recognized Dr Moore at the meeting for performing the FIRST Anterior Elevate in the USA, being the principal investigator on the FIRST Mini-arc mini-sling procedure in the US, performing the FIRST Mini-Arc Precise in the US in 2010 and for he and Dr Miklos having published the LARGEST series in the world on Laparoscopic Sacralcolpexies. Dr Moore lectured and performed 2 live surgeries including Mini-sling as well as Laparoscopic Sacralcolpopexy to over 600 surgeons attending the meeting on Sat and Sun!! It was a true pleasure and honor for Dr Moore to be the Main International Speaker and one of the Co-chairs at this meeting. Their were over 23 faculty members, 50 lectures, and 40 surgeries at this two day conference. Dr Moore was able to take a couple hours to go visit the Kryshna temple in Bangalore, which was fascinating!
Sunday night Dr Moore then travelled to Hyderabad, India to be the Lead and Main Speaker and Surgeon at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences. The course was organized by the Department of Urology and Renal Transportation as well the Dept of Gynecology. Professor PV Murthy, Chair of the Department of Urology invited Dr Moore to be the Distinguished Visiting Professor and Surgeon at the meeting titled “Update on Pelvic Floor Reconstruction” on Monday 25 Oct 2010. Dr Moore again gave lectures and performed live surgeries viewed by over 100 surgeons in the auditorium. Dr Moore was honored to be asked to be the Main Speaker and Surgeon for this course at another major teaching institute in India. After the meeting Dr Moore began his long journey back home.
In 4 days in India, Dr Moore gave over ten lectures, performed 10 live surgeries, and taught 850 surgeons in 3 cities throughout India. Dr Moore and Miklos are dedicated to continue to teach and educate throughout the world and are always honored to be invited to come and share their knowledge and expertise.
